Conglomerate rocks

Year 3 were looking at Conglomerate rocks or 'Pudding stones'. These are rocks that are made up from lots of small particles of different rocks, giving a 'pudding' appearance.
The children made their own pudding stones by rolling a ball of clay, then folding in rice, lentils, pasta and glitter. We then cut open the stones to reveal their interiors.

A real conglomerate rock
