Bake for Bobath!

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the parents in Year 3 for your kind donations of cakes and decorations. The children had lots of fun decorating the cupcakes and they enjoyed eating them even more, as lots of you saw during the bake sale! A big thank you also for buying lots of cakes! The children loved selling the cakes and using their money skills to give change. Would also like to say a HUGE thank you to the children of years 4,5 and 6 for bringing in cakes to sell to each other during break times. It was a huge success and all the children enjoyed eating the cakes. 

We raised a total of £343.42 for Bobath Children's Therapy Centre!!!!!! Thank you all again!

Eisteddfod 2014

We held our annual eisteddfod last Friday and it was a roaring success. Year 3 worked hard learning their song, Welsh poem and English poem and performing them in front of the school. They created excellent stories, handwriting pieces and art based on J.M.W. Turners landscape.

Eco day

We had lots of fun on our Eco days. We dressed up in our best trashion and had lots of fun modelling our outfits on the runway. Oliver and Eva won the best trashion in year 3! Well done both! We also did a traffic survey on the traffic that passes through Pontyclun. The children created a bar graph showing the results.

Tomorrow (20th February) is an Eco day where the children can participate in a 'Trashion show', modelling clothes made out if recycled rubbish if they want to. All children may wear non school uniform if they wish even if they are not doing the 'Trashion show.' 

Eisteddfod Song for Year 3

As usual, we will be holding Eisteddfod competitions in all classes this year in the run up to our St. David’s Day Eisteddfod. The nature and number of the competitions depend on the age of the children.  Competitions include Art, Creative Writing, Handwriting, Poetry (Reading and Writing, Welsh and English), Singing (Welsh and English), and Music. Every child in the school will take part in the Eisteddfod activities ranging from the Nursery (Art) to Year 6 (all the above).  As a school, we would like  to wish every pupil success in the competitions, and would like to thank the parental support given each year in preparing the children for the Eisteddfod.

St.David's day photos

Just a reminder that tomorrow, 13th February the photographer is taking photos of the children in Welsh costume.  Please could the children come to school dressed in Welsh costume. If you wish for your child to change into school uniform after the photographs, please could this be brought to school in a plastic bag. If you wish for your child to remain in costume that is fine too.
