Today in MUSIC, we continued exploring rhythmic patterns.

First of all we listened to PLEASE, MR NOAH.
Next we had to click and tap the steady beat.
Then we followed each animal's sound on the Rapping Rhythms photocopy.

Our next task was to learn the RHYTHM PATTERNS for each animal.

We were divided into groups and added our own actions.

We had to perform our rhythm and action to the class in time to a steady beat.

We then built up a class performance

We added our actions and rhythm patterns to the CD track.

We had great fun in Music today.

Can you tell which animals we are pretending to be from our photographs?

Funky Folk Dance-com & thinking skills

Today we used our Communication skills to listen, repond and discuss the music in our dance lesson. We had to learn the swing and promenade dance steps. It was a breeze. We invented lots of variations to the original steps and used our Thinking skills to plan and develop a short dance. Even Miss.Harris who is on work experience joined in as she loves to dance. she was very impressed. We were very inventive in our Funky folk routine. They listened and responded effortlessly to the music, kept in time and our movements flowed well. An alternative version of the swing.
These partners came up with new spin on the promenade when they were asked to vary their hold in the promenade and the swing. Moving around the room did prove more difficult but they're working on it.

This pair were having a whale of a time. They had some great ideas on dance moves.

We are doing a fine job completing our figure of eight pathway. Another 2 potential dancers for the St.Fagans extravaganza in the summer. Watch out, Mrs.Reed is always looking for boys to join the team.

Getting to grips with the promenade.

What a credit to the County Dancing club - a beautiful promenade. Many thanks to Tayo our photogapher and quality controller.

Our Teeth- ict,num & com skills

Today we have been lookin at our teeth. We used our communication skills to discuss how many teeth we have, the types of teeth and the jobs they do.

Having used our numeracy skills and to crate charts and collect data we went inti the ICT suite to transfer our data into different types of graphs. These talking partners are checking their information. They have used their ICT skills to make a tally chart on the 2calculate program.

We are busy completeing our charts. It's a serious business. Now what is that tooth called.

MMM I think that's a canine.

These mirrors are very useful. Thisyoung man thinks he may have discovered a cavity. Double checking our teeth.

It's amazing what you find when you look carefully. Those mirrors proved very useful.

Think Through Talk - Diamond Nine

The children were given nine statements on the topic of teeth and healthy living. With their talking partner they sorted the cards putting the one they agree with at the top and the one they least agree with at the bottom. They talked about facts and opinions and they spoke to the class once they had finished. Here are some of the pictures we took.

Design and Technology - Magnetic Maze

As part of our D.T project this term the children were asked to design and create a magnetic game. They made drawings of a maze that they wanted the magnet to follow. They used their communication skills sharing their ideas with their talking partner. They measure, marked out, sawed the wood and glued it together with a glue gun. They used their number skills to do this. they evaluated their work once they had finished.

The children had lots of fun making their game. here are some of the pictures the children took with the camera.

Gymnastics- Alphabet Shapes

The children were asked to create a gymnastic sequence using the alphabet shapes on the apparatus. They had the link their movements together with the body schooling actions they have been learning about. In their sequence they had to think about travelling in different directions and also to use different levels. They had to show fluency and control. Here are some of the photographs.

Let us tell you a story......

This term we have been investigating story settings. We used our imagination and went into the garden to build our story settings, using lots of equipment.
Can you guess what this will be?

This group used their communication skills to explain their ideas.

This group even decided to make a character in their story setting. Who is it ?

Even Mr Lloyd, the vice chair of our governing body joined in as captain of the ship!
Can you see the lighthouse in
this picture?

This group looks thoughtful as they try to use the logs as a castle.
We all had a great time planning, presenting and writing our ideas.
